click for zoom

The Municipality of Jesolo has proposed the section of sandy area Beach of Faro to participate in the project Corona Save the beach - adopt a beach, organised with the collaboration of FEE-Foundation for Environmental Education.

The objective of the project is to support during summer some beaches that need to reach good standards of cleanliness, contributing with the help of volunteers and improving environmental information.

How to participate in the survey

From 12 to 25 May 2015, on the www.corona-extra.it web site it is possible to vote the Beach of Faro choosing it among the eight Italian beaches participating in the survey. The most voted ones will participate in the final. From 26 May to 4 June it will be possible to vote the two finalists to choose the beach that will be adopted by Corona. On 5 June, World Environment Day, Corona will communicate the name of the beach chosen for the 2015 edition of “Save Your Beach”.

Final event

The winning beach will be adopted by Corona for the entire summer. On 20 June, first day of the adoption, Corona and Blue Flag will start cleaning the winning beach.

Why the Beach of Faro?

The Beach of Faro is a section of sandy area without facilities located at the end of the coast of Jesolo, at the mouth of the river Sile. The landscape is subject to environmental restrictions and it is near the Zone di Protezione Speciale (Special Protection Areas) (Z.P.S.) of the upper Venetian Lagoon and Siti di Importanza Comunitaria (Sites of Community importance) (S.I.C.) of Cavallino Peninsula: coastal biotopes.
The vegetative range of this section of coast is rich in species of trees and shrubs typical of the Venetian coastal habitat, and it is an ecological corridor for the biotypes permeability, contributing to the preservation and formation of this biological environment very close to special environmental protection areas.
The attention reserved to this section of coast is also due to the good accessibility of the site with respect to the services located upstream the beach, easily reachable from the urban major roads, all merging in a wide parking area. Special attention is dedicated to disabled persons, thanks to the realization of special accesses and footboards, apart from removable paths, which allow them a direct passage to the sea.

Upstream the Beach of Faro there is the touristic complex of Camping International located in a green context destined to camping area and low volumetric density surroundings mainly composed of touristic and residential building structures having a seasonal use.
