ICONS

More than 90 icons of Russian tradition are exhibited in the Chiesa di S. Maria Ausiliatrice in piazza Trieste, until 31 August 2018.
The works exhibited come from a Venetian collector that in 2014 gave the Diocesan museum custody of  his Russian Icons collection so they would be valorised from an artistic and spiritual point of view  offering the key to understanding of the traditional aspects, symbolic and religious meanings, and realisation techniques.
Since then the Museum has cyclically presented most of the icons with exhibitions that allow closely contemplating different iconographic typologies, and significant moments of the life of Mary and Christ, apart from the different images of eastern and western saints.
For Jesolo, this exhibition is a great occasion to discover, through more than 90 works, the Russian Oriental devotion, tradition, and art.

Opening hours:
from Tuesday to Sunday from 20.30 to 22.30

Free entrance

The exhibition is part of the event  Rassegna Avvenire@Jesolo, realised in collaboration with the national newspaper Avvenire.
In the programme of the event,  Wednesday 11 July a meeting curated by the writer and theologian Paolo Curtaz, from Aosta, on the topic “La Chiesa secondo Gesù” (The Church according to Jesus) while on  Wednesday 25 July  the guest will be Mons. Juan Ignacio Arrieta, who will discuss the issue of the Vatican Bank reform.
